DROP COLLECTIVE es una agrupación de diez músicos que fusiona música jamaicana y jazz en un repertorio de composiciones y arreglos propios, que no olvida la importancia de hacer bailar al respetable. Ritmos y melodías antillanos bajo el paraguas del jazz, pero con un reverencial respecto a la esencia de ambas tradiciones. COME SHINE es el segundo álbum esta joven banda nacida en Barcelona en 2016.
La inmediata primera impresión es la de un sónico compacto, sólido y sincrónico pero repleto de matices. Esto hace que rápidamente se pongan en marcha los atajos mentales que seleccionan la información necesaria para entender que se trata de un disco sobresaliente. Sensación que acompaña en todo momento durante los diez temas del disco, ocho cantados en inglés y dos instrumentales. La formación jazzística de los músicos, además de técnica y pericia, les aporta una gran desenvoltura para sumergirse en modos y tonalidades que, en algunos casos,por su sutileza pueden pasar desapercibidos en una primera escucha, pero que son los cimientos sobre los que se construye el sonido de DROP COLLECTIVE. ¡Disfrutalo!

DROP COLLECTIVE is an ensemble of ten musicians fusing Jamaican
music and jazz in a repertoire of own-penned compositions and
arrangements, never forgetting the importance of making the
audience dance. Antillean rhythms and melodies under the jazz
umbrella, but with a reverence for the essence of both
traditions. COME SHINE is the second effort of this young band
founded in Barcelona in 2016.
The immediate first impression is that of a tight, solid and synchronous sound yet
full of details. This instantly activates the mental shortcuts that select the
necessary information to understand that it is an outstanding album. A feelingthat accompanies at all times during the ten tracks of the album, eight sung in
English and two instrumentals.
The jazz education of the musicians, in addition to technique and skill, gives them
great ease to submerge themselves in modes and tonalities that, due to their
subtleness can go unnoticed at a first listen in some cases, but which form the
foundations of the sound of DROP COLLECTIVE. Enjoy!

Tras dos años de inactividad debido a las restricciones derivadas de la Covid19, vuelve una de la citas más esperadas del invierno, mientras la banda prepara nuevo disco. Sin duda, será una buena manera de levantar el animo al personal.
